Life in the Tech Lane

So today I learned how to use the auction programming software.  At first the program wasn’t working, so I started the day calling tech people and trying to get the computer to work.  Classic unreliable technology.  Once the computer finally started to work, I was able to learn how to use the program “Auction Plus”.  It really wasn’t that difficult.  There were a few quirks regarding go-getter numbers and when to press clear and whatnot.  So then I spent the majority of the day entering donor and sponsor information into the computer as well as correcting and proofreading information that had already been entered.  Each donor has a multitude of information about them that needs to be entered into the computer, such as numerous phone numbers, email addresses, job titles, etc.  I also learned a few different “classification codes” with which I tagged certain donors, such as DNC which means Do Not Contact.  I like working on the computer so today was pretty chill.

  1. So does the software work pretty much like Excel? Does it do anything particularly nifty?
