another half-day
Today I had the AP Bio exam, so I lost my morning again. In the afternoon, I did some work on the sound for my movie, cataloguing my characters' syllables so I can match them with mouth movements when I animate. I still have work to do in that department, but I'm getting sooooo close to shooting a final product. I met with my sponsor this weekend to show her my progress. She likes the point I'm at with my project and gave some incredibly helpful tips and criticisms. For example, I have some pans and tilts in my storyboards, which I was planning on animating in the same way that you do stop-motion characters: one frame at a time. She showed me a posterize function in the editing software Final Cut Pro, however, that allows in-computer camera movements to match the frame rate of animation. This is all technical mumbo-jumbo, but what I'm trying to get out is that I'll be saving a ton of time by doing camera movements in post production, rather than during the actual shoot. Super pumped!
