Catch up day
Friday was what we call in second grade, a catch up day. It was a very relaxing day for me, as the kids just did a lot of catch up work and make up work. We started out the morning with a typical morning meeting, and then we all got busy. I helped the kids write biographies about a person of choice, and we typed them up together. Their favorite part was easily picking out fonts. Each second grade class has a John Carroll intern working with the teacher. Friday was unfortunately their very last day. I spent a lot of my time helping the kids put together gifts and cards for their teachers. They all seemed very sad about their teachers leaving. Along with working on the biographies, I had the exciting job of taking all of the school work that the kids did, and sorting it into piles by child, for their end of the year portfolios. It's unbelievable how much work they do in one year!! That took quite a while, but finally I finished and the kids were excited to see all that they have accomplished since August. They are on proud group of second graders!
