Thursday...
For some very odd reason the kids were out of control today. I'm not sure whether it was the fact that they had a perspective student with them in the class all day, the fact that yesterday was Fun Day, or the fact that it's just basically the end of school, but they had more energy than Mrs. Dasher and I could handle! The amount of time we spent waiting for them to focus and be quiet was much larger than we would like, but who can blame them? They can't be any worse than seniors. Today we had another traditional classroom day. The kids did a lot of fraction work. This work included numerous worksheets which I would then check for them, and give them little smiley faces and stickers for a job well done. I felt like such a teacher. Along with working on fractions, they continued to write in their Caldecott and Immigration Journals, which I also checked and "stickered" for them. I finally got to finish up with my last few kids on their biographies, which was such a relief. I was quite glad to be done with those after so much time spent. I will not be in class tomorrow due to the AP Spanish Literature exam, but I look forward to next week, where I will hopefully be starting to teach a few lessons to the class!
